11 Jun DARIUS BUTLER YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP 2016
Darius Butler, the Indianapolis Colts veteran and Broward County native, brought the star-studded football camp of the summer to his hometown. Darius’ main objective was to not only give back to his community but to show the youth that they can make it from where they are, the same place he and some of his NFL peers started from.
The All-Star roster that was in attendance at Joseph C. Carter Park really gave the camp an elite status, free of charge to boys ages 8-16. The Colts cornerback was joined by teammates Frank Gore (5x Pro-Bowl running back), Vontae Davis (2x Pro-Bowl cornerback), Erik Walden (Super Bowl XLV Champion linebacker) and Kendall Langford (Indianapolis Colts defensive end). Also in attendance were Tyvon Branch (Arizona Cardinals strong safety), Mike Mitchell (Pittsburgh Steelers safety) Kelvin Sheppard (New York Giants linebacker) and Major Wright (Tampa Bay Buccaneers free safety). Aside from other NFL players, Darius also invited top sports trainers from Bommarito Performance Systems to lead the campers in stretches and warm-ups.
The official sponsors of this year’s camp included the Indianapolis Colts, Bommarito Performance Systems, Coral Springs Charter High School, Jersey Mikes Subs, Kind Snacks, Pasta Chips, Lean, BodyArmor, Vita CoCo, Muscle Milk and Sparkling Ice.
The Darius Butler Youth Football Camp was presented by the Darius Butler Foundation in partnership with Go-To-E Management on Saturday June 11, 2016 at Joseph C. Carter Park in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
